I am an experienced Behaviour Therapist with experience supporting children, adolescents and young people with complex behavioural and developmental needs across disability, education, family and community settings. My experience includes working with participants with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), ADHD, intellectual disability, trauma-related difficulties, emotional dysregulation and complex behaviours of concern.
In my role, I have conducted Functional Behavioural Assessments, including QABF and BPI, and developed and implemented Behaviour Support Plans and risk management strategies tailored to each participant’s needs. I have also prepared NDIS reports and support letters and worked collaboratively with families, schools, support workers, Occupational Therapists, Speech therapists, and other professionals.
My approach is person-centred, trauma-informed, strengths-based and developmentally appropriate. I focus on building trusting relationships by taking the time to understand each participant’s communication style, preferences, strengths, environment and individual goals. I believe effective behavioural support should be practical, collaborative and meaningful to the participant and their support network.
I am motivated by helping participants develop functional skills, increase independence, manage behaviours of concern and participate more successfully in everyday life. I have a particular interest in positive behaviour support, neurodevelopmental presentations and supporting children and young people with complex needs.
